Mission Statement: Creating and aligning connections between the medical, culinary, athletic, and artistic fields as to promote further enlightenment and access to potentially new global health and sustainability initiatives, in addition to artistic therapies.
I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years and in the culinary field for the past 13. My experience includes obstetrics and gynecology, fertility, pediatrics, preventive medicine, and in a university and private wellness centers. I strongly believe in preventive medicine through integrative nutrition and have applied this as a chef and in my home. I spent time as a Chef de Partie in the high volume restaurants The Grand Marlin in Pensacola Beach and Eclipse di Luna in Atlanta. I was the Sous Chef at Gee Da's Table in the Downtown - Historic District of Statesboro, and as a Restaurant & Menu Design Consultant in addition to Marketing and Wellness Advising at Stone's Cuisine & Cocktails in Atlanta. I am currently a Private Executive Chef for a family in Atlanta in addition to Concierge Culinary Medicine Consulting for select clients.
I am an alumna of several universities including a President's List and 4.0 GPA Honors Graduate from Le Cordon Bleu in Culinary Arts, Everglades University for Alternative Medicine / Pre-Medical - Science Track, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition for Nutrition, Undergraduate Core / Pre-Medical at Georgia Southern University and Harvard Extension School, in addition to The University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth for Sustainability Studies. I enjoyed 39 courses offered by Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences for a Science and Cooking Lecture Series, and also the Siting Julia: A Julia Child Centenary Symposium offered at the Radcliffe Institute at Harvard University. I am a proud member of the American Culinary Federation, the James Beard Foundation, and of Slow Food.
During my training, I have studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
Most of all I want you to know I'm approachable. I'm human like anyone else and am in NO way perfect! I make mistakes and learn from them. If you feel overwhelmed or fear failure then no worries! EVERYONE feels that way from time to time and we can all overcome together!
In my free time I love to travel, see live music, watch sports (GO ATLANTA BRAVES! GO ATLANTA UNITED!! GO ATLANTA FALCONS!!! GO GSU EAGLES!!!!), and just enjoy the love of my life Scott, bonus kids Devlin and Ian, plus family and friends in general. You know, puppies and babies hahaha (it's ok to laugh!). Feel free to follow me on Instagram, Pinterest, or any of my social networking sites located at the top of the page.
Please remember to take time for yourself and relax ... YOU DESERVE IT!
